At CoreTech Academy we take your privacy, and your child's, seriously. This policy explains what personal data we collect, why, and how we look after it.

Who we are

CoreTech Academy provides live online coding lessons for children over Zoom. For any privacy question or request, email info@thecoretechacademy.co.uk.

What we collect

• When you book a session (through Calendly): your name, email address, any phone number you give us, your child's first name and age, their coding experience, and the time you choose.
• When you email us: your email address and whatever you include in your message.
• During lessons (on Zoom): the name your child joins with. We do not record lessons.
• If you sign up for regular lessons: the details needed to arrange and invoice them.

We only ever collect your child's information from you, the parent or carer, and we keep it to the minimum we need.

This website

This website does not use cookies, analytics or any tracking. It is hosted by Cloudflare, which processes basic technical information (such as your IP address) to deliver the site and protect it from attacks. When you click a booking button you go to Calendly's website, which has its own privacy policy.

How we use your data

• To schedule and run taster sessions and lessons.
• To reply to your questions and keep you updated about your child's lessons.
• To manage payments and keep the records we're legally required to keep.

We use your data because it's needed to provide the service you asked for, or because we have a legitimate interest in running our lessons well. We never sell or rent your data, and we never use it for third-party marketing.

Who we share it with

Only the services we use to run our lessons: Calendly (bookings), Zoom (lessons), our email provider, our payment provider, and Cloudflare (this website). Each is bound by its own data protection obligations.

How long we keep it

• Booking and contact details: up to 12 months after your last session.
• Payment and accounting records: for as long as the law requires (usually six years).

Your rights

You can ask us to give you a copy of your data, correct it, delete it, or stop using it. Just email info@thecoretechacademy.co.uk. If you're unhappy with how we've handled your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
